The greatest players, the managers, the trophies and the greatest matches in the history of the Gunners. FOOTBALL LEGENDS LIAM BRADY DVD: Liam Brady began his career at Arsenal as a schoolboy apprentice in 1971 and turned professional on his 17th birthday in 1973. He helped Arsenal reach three F.A. Cup Finals in a row winning the final against Manchester United in 1979 it was Brady who started the move that ended in Alan Sunderland s famous last minute winner. He was easily the best player in a young, promising side but it wasn t to last as the team and the fans knew Brady would need to move on to a bigger challenge. After Arsenal beat Juventus 2 1 in Turin (it was unheard of for Italians to lose home European ties back then), Juventus were so impressed with Brady they signed him for just over £:500 000 in the 1980 close season leaving behind a wake of broken hearted fans. He retired from football in May 1990 after having played for a variety of clubs after Juventus. He is remembered as one of Arsenals all time greats, playing 307 matches scoring 59 goals and setting up many more. He was chosen as PFA player of the year in 1979 being from the Republic of Ireland, he was the first player from outside of Britain to win the award. GREATEST FOOTBALL CLUBS ARSENAL BOOK: The world famous Gunners of Arsenal are not only enjoying the longest spell in the top flight of English football - they have regularly dominated it, with three League and Cup Doubles in living memory and a European Champions League Final appearance for good measure. They will be writing more pages of history at the Emirates Stadium just as they did at Highbury for nearly a century, and this book tells that glorious tale in words and pictures. From Herbert Chapman to Arsè:ne Wenger, Cliff Bastin to Thierry Henry, the names, games and achievements of the men from London N5 will never be forgotten. Arsenal s history is the story of the English game this book tells you why.
